California Lighthouse
The California Lighthouse, located on the northern tip of Aruba, was built in 1914 to guide ships safely around the island. It was named after the American ship California, which ran aground off the coast in 1891. The lighthouse stands 30 meters tall and offers breathtaking views of Aruba’s coastline.
ALTO VISTA CHAPEL
The Alto Vista Chapel, also known as the “Pilgrims’ Chapel,” is a small, historic Catholic chapel located in Aruba’s northern region. It was originally built in 1750 by the Spanish missionary Domingo Antonio Silvestre. The chapel was constructed at the site of the island’s first Catholic mission, serving as a place for worship for early settlers and indigenous people.
GOLD RUINS
also known as the Bushiribana Gold Mill Ruins, are remnants of a gold processing plant built in 1824. During the 19th century, Aruba was a significant producer of gold, and the mill was established to process the gold ore mined from the island. The ruins are now a popular tourist attraction, offering a glimpse into Aruba’s mining history and providing scenic views of the surrounding landscape.
